The process

The center enables stallion owners to sell genetic material from their animals to anywhere in the world. We have extensive experience, not only with the collecting process but also with all regulatory approvals needed for exporting semen to several countries in different continents. This way, the center can help you to create a new revenue stream for you stable.

Semen collecting

Collecting is done in a specially built room, with anti slip floors to protect the stallions, which also wear shin protectors. A specially protected dummy is used, alongside an artificial vagina prepared with the proper temperature and pressure.

All sanitary equipment is used only once, and prepared in a separate room, to ensure all sanitary and safety conditions.

Semen Processing

Collected semen is brought to the lab, built right next to the collection room, where it is analysed, which allows immediate viability assessments, based on parameters such as concentration, motility and morphology. We used suitable centrifuges to perform seminal fluid separation. All these procedures are done according to international standards.

Semen storage and distribution

Collected semen can be shipped straight away with suitable containers to be used fresh, or can be frozen in tagged straws with 0,50 cc each. These straws are kept in quarantine inside liquid nitrogen tanks, to be shipped afterwards. Every dose of semen goes through a quality assurance process before shipment.

The center provides appropriate storage and handling during shipment as well as all the necessary documentation, suitable for all destination markets.
